Cantelena

The “Cantelena” choir of Patras, was founded in 2016 by the current director Mrs. Eleni Papadopoulou – Aravantinou. It consists of 3 sections and its repertoire includes original works and covers of contemporary choral music. Since its creation, the choir has carved a tremendous and brilliant path with many national and international concerts annually.

Among other things, the choir has been honoured with numerous medals and distinctions. It attended the “18th Moscow Easter Festival”, in Russia in 2019, following an invitation from the Ministry of Culture of the country, the “2nd Leonardo Da Vinci International Choral Festival”, in Italy in 2018, where it was awarded a silver medal. She has also participated in INTERKULTUR’s “2nd International Festival & Competition Kalamata’s” in 2017, where she was awarded three gold medals, while the women’s section was Category Winner by participating in the Grand Prix of the competition. Finally, she participated in the Sofia International Easter Festival in Bulgaria 2017 in the same year. The choir would have had the honour to represent our country at the “11th World Choir Games” in July 2020 in Belgium, but this was postponed due to the pandemic.
